  Not great response time on this good suggestion.
  How about a triple tap and hold on the space key to back up and erase?

  OpenBoard has this nice handy swipe feature on the delete key to select and delete text.
  I'd love to see this in Typewise next to flow feature.
  I'd then use Typewise again.

  Make like short swipe left delete one letter, long swipe left delete words. I almost allways use the long left swipe to delete multiple words to change a sentence.

  Couldn't agree more. I think in words, not letters. When i make a mistake, it's much easier to retype the word from the beginning than to stop and have to count the deletes, or long swipe and have to look and adjust how far back the deletion has gone.

  possible gesture, start the delete with left swipe (like normal) and then move up. Not that great and fast to delete multiple words though.

  What if you could pinch the keyboard to delete the most recent word?
  
  A pinch gesture using my thumbs, when I push them together it deletes a word, and moving them apart restores a word.

  Another idea: swipe back from the right space key deletes individual letters, but swiping from the left space key only deletes entire words.
