Tillthis will either make your other keys smaller or the whole keyboard a lot bigger...
2
neither of it makes much sense...
get used to the secound page. this is just a habit which takes some time to change, as you need to adapt to the new layout... few days and you're used to it -

FabianI think giving the option would be a good idea. Maybe in pro version?
2
Making the keyboard bigger altogether would not be a problem on many phones these days:
Screens get bigger and bigger, especially vertically with new crazy aspect ratios. Many have enough space for the row of numbers.
Constantly switching to number pad is tedious when you type a password for example which can have alternating numbers and letters.
Since it would be an option, it would harm nobody. -

AndiI also would prefer not having to switch to type a number. I think it could work the way it already does for : or '
2
The numbers could be displayed in grey and typed by a longer press on the corresponding key. Therefore it also does not make the keyboard bigger - but the typing faster. -

Akhil AlexI really want this. I don't want to go to another page just to type a number.

BenjiI agree with Fabian. There are ways to make this unintrusive. Swiping down on keys to get numbers (of course then, disabling the "swipe down to undo auto-correct", which could be retained on the space-key --> there shall be a suggestion for this soon™) is one option.

Peterjust add the numbers to the existing characters, to be activated if pressed longer than a second, like in my Lineage keyboard. Simple, he?

CayaIn my opinion the empty space on the side could also be used. Be it for numbers or sth else, but i really think clicking on the second page for numbers is an inconvenience

JoI really like how apple integrated the number row. You swipe down on the top row to add a number. It's much faster than long pressing and doesn't interrupt the writing flow.

DaniThe solution suggestion of Jo sounds very practical, "I really like how apple integrated the number row. You swipe down on the top row to add a number. It's much faster than long pressing and doesn't interrupt the writing flow."

I'm as well very used to the number row, but having the numbers directly accessible through a 2nd function of a button would suit as well. What i really do not like is having a button to switch to a 2nd board, maybe the keyboard can be devided in multiple parts with different gesture actions?
Upper middle and a lower section.
A swipe from left to right in the upper section switches to the number board, with the opposite you return to normal.
With a swipe from right to left you get to the special chars, the numbers could be removed and only special chars are displayed. (So less buttons will need to have a double function)
Swipe from left to right in the middle section deletes the normal way, whilst in the other way it deletes everything in front of the cursor. -

Dani2nd part:
A swipe from right to left in the lower section makes for e.g. capslock to stay on, and the opposite way turns it off again
You did not implement a clipboard function yet but with a swipe from right to left you could open the clipboard.
This are only suggestions and i think those swipe actions should be customizable by the user.
Thank you for considering my suggestion -

JasonI agree as well. This is Android. If i wanted to switch to a different page for numbers Id buy Crapple.

JJIMO Google keyboard has the best number solution (swipe up from top row), however that's how you do capitals in Typewise... maybe just a tiny thing above the top row that you swipe up from to reveal the numbers instead?

Paul AlmeidaI agree too

GJI would definitely change permanently to your keyword if it had shortcuts for numbers.
-

Greg BeachFor an optional number row, you could put 0 between the q/w, 9 between p/o, 2-8 across the top and swipe up 9 for 0. The numbers across the top would also make room for the more common special characters on the main keyboard.

Marie"this will either make your other keys smaller or the whole keyboard a lot bigger...

Who cares? Some people want this, if you don't want it, there will definitely be an option to remove the number row...
Please finally implement this... -

Jonathan webbThe numbers should be on the same keys as in the number pad imho with a long press to get the number as in swiftkey. This could apply to other special characters as well. if it is the e for example, you would get the 3 as well as the accents on e.

Michał MergedMost computer keyboards have a number pad on the right, it makes entering numbers much more comfortable.

Ella dawnI think you should be able to swipe down from the top and the numbers will appearIt would be a much quicker way of doing it

EddlesThis is a huge, huge thing for me. Make it possible to add in the number row without squashing down the keyboard. I don't mind a higher keyboard - it should be easy enough to toggle on/off. No need to make the keyboard smaller with the row enabled. It'd be wonderful to get it. Thank you!

Nicolas RogalaAny alternative to the awful "number pyramid" would be appreciated. I think a number row that only shows up when you press the 'numbers and special characters' key would ba nice.

J ReevesI'd be ok without a dedicated numbers row if you added numbers as a secondary key option such as W - 1; E - 2; T - 3....etc with R G & U being numbers 7, 8 and 9

JonKWhy not just do qwerty as numbers like every other keyboard and then swipe down for numbers and swipe up for caps. Long press should be reserved for less common characters. Also, please add an option to make the number pad keyboard the same size as the full keyboard (quick access could be underneath and visible when scrolling). Then add an option to have numberpad or quick access on the top.

AkoviaAdd a new row or add multi function keys. Whatever the case, please make numbers available without having to go to a different board.

AkoviaEntering passwords is extremely painful. There is a reason most keyboards have a numbers row. I actually switch to openboard for the times I actually have to type letters AND numbers.
Make it optional for pro users and then you can please everyone. Win-win!
